As part of Disability Week, the Department of Nursing Education organized a comprehensive training program at the School for Hearing-Impaired Students to raise awareness in society and improve the quality of life of disadvantaged groups. Delivered by Dr. Aliye Çayır, the interactive event aimed to educate students on general body hygiene and technology addiction, while encouraging healthy habits and responsible technology use. The program adopted a family-centered approach by involving parents to support sustainable behavior change at home. University students enrolled in the “Volunteer Studies Course” prepared hands-on activities that reinforced learning, and Konya Youth Council Member and NEU Nursing Faculty Representative Emine Yılmaz contributed by presenting gifts to the students. The initiative strongly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This meaningful event created an inclusive, motivating learning environment and reinforced our university’s commitment to social responsibility and community health.
