Within the scope of the "Border Studies Training Program" organized by the Migration Research Foundation, border-society, territory-society relations were discussed. In this context, it was focused on how both the territorial borders and almost every discourse, symbol and practice related to them are directly or indirectly related to the society. The highlights of the seminar can be stated as follows: Modern borders are the basic codes that point to where the nation-society begins and ends, and that establishes "us". Therefore, the nation-society is also a territorial society. Borders are one of the most important and functional devices in building the society/nation in terms of the nation-state. For the nation-state, borders and territory are more important than anything else for making peoples a nation. The most functional and comprehensive form of making peoples a nation is the territorialization of territory, rather than being a geographical and geo-political entity. Thus, the conversation ended with an analysis of the relations between border, territory and state.
