Breast Cancer and Early Diagnosis Conference

October has been designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” to highlight breast health and the importance of early detection methods. Within this framework, October 15 is recognized as “World Breast Health Day,” and October 26 as “Pink Ribbon Day.” Early diagnosis plays a vital role in the fight against breast cancer.In parallel with global efforts, a conference entitled “Breast Cancer and Early Diagnosis” was held on October 15, 2025, to raise awareness about breast cancer, support early detection and treatment, and emphasize women’s health. During the conference, Prof. Dr. Mehmet ARTAÇ, from the Department of Medical Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Necmettin Erbakan University Hospital, gave a presentation on “Breast Cancer Incidence and Risk Factors.” Oncology Education Nurse Yeter İLİK spoke about “Early Diagnosis and Screening Behaviors in Breast Cancer,” and Özlem ÇARCI, a breast cancer survivor, shared her personal experiences. As part of the event, participants wore pink ribbons, received information about breast cancer and early diagnosis methods, and were provided with informative brochures.
