Although it is known as the “blue planet,” a large portion of the world's water resources are not suitable for direct human use. Approximately 97.5% of the water on Earth is salt water, and nearly two-thirds of the remaining 2.5% of fresh water is frozen in glaciers. This clearly shows how limited the amount of usable fresh water actually is.

Based on this awareness, the main purpose of the event was to explain to people the vital importance of water and that it is a resource that must be protected. The students involved in the event aimed to spread the understanding that “a drop of water means a life” by emphasizing the role of water in all areas of life.

Throughout the event, information was provided about water being a finite resource, the factors causing water pollution, the effects of water waste on the environment and ecosystems, and the negative consequences of water scarcity on human health. Participants were provided with examples of the difficulties people face in accessing water, particularly in regions struggling with water scarcity such as Africa, to help them better understand the value of water.

Informative posters, banners, and visual materials prepared by students were displayed at various points in the faculty building. These visuals aimed to raise awareness among both students and academic staff about the sustainable use of water.

At the end of the event, participants exchanged ideas on individual measures for water conservation, water-saving habits, and environmentally conscious lifestyles; the message that water must be protected not only for today but also for future generations was emphasized.
