Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine Dean's Office organized an Awareness Event on the occasion of December 3rd World Day of Persons with Disabilities in order to ensure the participation of people with disabilities in social life on equal terms with others, to improve their quality of life and to create awareness about the problems they experience. In the program, Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Şükrü Nail Güner, Faculty of Medicine Accreditation Coordinator Prof. Dr. İsmail Reisli, our university's Disabled Student Unit Assistant Coordinator İsmet Çavdar, Faculty of Medicine Term 6 hearing-impaired student Aslıhan İrem Yön and Faculty of Medicine Term 2 hearing-impaired student Halime Sude Arıcı made speeches explaining the meaning and importance of the day. Aslıhan İrem Yön, who was given a hearing-impaired digital listening device (stethoscope) as a gift by the Faculty of Medicine Foundation, thanked everyone who contributed by explaining how this listening device changed her life. Our other hearing-impaired student Halime Sude Arıcı also expressed the difficulties she experiences as a hearing-impaired medical doctor. Dean Prof. Dr. Şükrü Nail Güner stated that as the Faculty of Medicine, we will continue to contribute to the Medical Education of disabled students within our vision of removing obstacles. The event ended with a mini concert given by Selçuklu Science High School Music Teacher, visually impaired Mustafa Karaca.
