On December 11, 2024, the Friendship Match event, organized to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, took place at the Selçuklu Amputee Football Field. This meaningful event was spearheaded by our university’s Meram Vocational School, with the participation of our faculty as a strong supporter of this initiative. Representing our faculty at this important event were Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet DEMİREL, Associate Professor of Recreation Management Dr. Yalçın TÜKEL, and Research Assistant Andaç AKÇAKESE. The Friendship Match highlighted the unifying power of sports and emphasized the active role individuals with disabilities can play in every aspect of life. Our faculty’s involvement aimed to contribute to raising awareness about the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and to foster social solidarity. Participating in this event and witnessing how sports help integrate individuals with disabilities into society was a profoundly meaningful experience for everyone involved. Such events not only create awareness but also showcase that overcoming barriers is possible and that everyone deserves an equal place in life.
