Fourth-year students from the Department of Recreation Management at Necmettin Erbakan University’s Faculty of Tourism visited the Private Ümit Evi Disabled Care Center to promote social responsibility and contribute to the quality of life for disadvantaged individuals. During their visit, the students engaged in various recreational activities with the center's residents, sharing joyful moments and creating meaningful interactions. By observing the daily lives of individuals with disabilities, the students gained valuable insights into their needs and challenges. They also participated in discussions with the staff to learn about the services provided and the efforts aimed at improving the integration of disabled individuals into society. Recreational activities were carried out to help children develop their hand skills. Competitions were organized that emphasized the importance of cooperation and achieving success together, by making them perform paired and interconnected movements. Additionally, individual imitation games were used to help children express themselves and develop self-confidence. This visit highlighted the power of recreation as a tool not only for leisure but also for fostering social equality and community solidarity. By the end of the event, students recognized the transformative role of recreational activities in creating inclusive and equitable environments. The visit served as an emotional and educational experience, strengthening the bond between the students and the residents while underscoring the importance of social responsibility in building a more inclusive society.
