Dr. Lecturer Member Şimşir: “Sahib Ata Fahrettin Ali Tomb has the Richest Tile Decorations in Anatolia”

This month's guest of the Sahib Ata Conferences, organized in cooperation with our University's Seljuk Culture and Civilization Application and Research Center and Konya Regional Directorate of Foundations, is Dr. Lecturer Member Zekeriya Şimşir discussed the subject of "Konya sahibi Ata Manzumesi Tiles".   In the program held at the sahibi Ata Foundation Museum, our University's Turkish Islamic Arts and Archeology Department Dr. explained the history of tile art. Lecturer Member Zekeriya Şimşir stated that serious tiled works were produced in Konya between the 1220s and 1270s, various techniques were used in tile making, and the most common type of tile during the Anatolian Seljuk period was mosaic.   Talking about the tiles on the crown gate in the Owner Ata Poem, Dr. Lecturer Member Şimşir said, “There are applications in the tile parts here, especially in the body of the minaret, which is made of glazed bricks on the minaret base, and there are applications under the balcony. Apart from this, I think there may be a sphere-shaped tile on the corner of the siege arch that has not survived to the present day. There are also remains that have survived to this day in the zengi knotted sections on the minaret base. The architect of the building is Kelük bin Abdullah. "The body of the minaret was made of brick dough in relief, and on the collapsed parts, tile pieces in turquoise, eggplant purple or black were placed in the middle," he said.   Dr. noted that the crown door section of the Sahib Ata Khankah was kept simple and all enthusiasm, decoration and aesthetics were left to the tomb. Lecturer Member Zekeriya Şimşir stated that the tomb with the richest tile decoration among the tombs in Anatolia is the sahibi Ata Fahrettin Ali Tomb.   Foundations Konya Regional Director Nurullah Osmanlı, in his speech at the end of the conference, said: Lecturer He stated that member Zekeriya Şimşir gave very valuable information and thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.   After the speech, Foundations Konya Regional Director Nurullah Osmanlı, Dr. Lecturer The program ended with the presentation of a plaque to member Zekeriya Şimşir.
