An "Empathy Day" event was organized at Necmettin Erbakan Faculty of Nursing on December 4, 2023, to raise awareness about disabled individuals within the scope of World Disability Day. 50 students and academicians attended the event organized under the consultancy of Lecturer Elanur KALECİ. During the event, a video prepared by students about hearing-impaired people was watched in the classroom. For the students to understand the difficulties experienced by the visually impaired, they were asked to descend the stairs of the faculty building and exit the building using the disabled exit. During the activity, the students' eyes were covered with an eye patch and they were given a cane to help them navigate. At the end of the event, students stated that they understood the difficulties of being disabled.
