Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Engineering was awarded the Zero Waste Certificate on September 29, 2026, valid until September 29, 2031, in recognition of its efforts to promote environmentally responsible practices and sustainable waste management. The certification was achieved through activities coordinated by Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Kunt, focusing on waste management, conservation of natural resources, promotion of recycling, and improvement of environmental awareness among students and academic and administrative staff. The initiative aimed to encourage waste reduction, efficient resource utilization, and the adoption of environmentally responsible practices within the faculty. By supporting the implementation of zero-waste principles in the university environment, the certification represents an important institutional step toward responsible consumption and production, sustainable campus management, and environmental protection. The achievement also contributes to environmental education, water and resource conservation, sustainable communities, and climate action by promoting a culture of sustainability across the academic community.
