Voluntary food scholarships provided by universities play a crucial role in the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These scholarships actively contribute to addressing hunger (Goal 2) and advocating for improved nutrition (Goal 3). Especially impactful for students facing economic challenges, these scholarships not only support ongoing education but also play a substantial role in the overarching objective of diminishing inequalities (Goal 10).

Beyond their role in addressing hunger, voluntary food scholarships also play a crucial part in sustainable development by contributing to the reduction of food waste. This aligns with SDGs such as ensuring clean water and sanitation (Goal 6) and fostering responsible consumption and production practices for climate action (Goal 12).

Voluntary food scholarships extend beyond mere economic support; they bring about social benefits by addressing various dimensions of sustainable development. By directly addressing students' daily nutritional needs, these scholarships enhance their ability to concentrate on studies and achieve academic success.

In the context of our commitment to sustainable development, the School of Foreign Languages staff has gone beyond traditional education support. In addition to the Neva Food Scholarship, we have provided food access support to our students throughout the year 2023. This support includes monthly top-ups to students' meal cards, reflecting our dedication to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically while promoting the broader objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals.
