On 3 December, a meaningful event was organised within the scope of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities. Meram Vocational School (MYO) academicians and Konya Amputee Football Team played a friendly match at Selçuklu Amputee Football Field. The struggle between amputee footballers and academicians revealed the spirit of friendship and fair play as well as fierce competition on the field.  

Speaking after the event, Meram Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman DOĞU said ‘This organisation is not only a football match, but also a meaningful event that shows that obstacles can be overcome together. Our amputee footballers inspire us all with their determination and success. The winner here today was friendship and solidarity’.  

While friendship was the winner at the end of the match, this meaningful organisation received full marks from the participants and the audience. This event, which demonstrated an example of solidarity overcoming obstacles, once again revealed the unifying power of sports.
