The İzmir J Project Meeting was organized together with Turkish Society of Clinical Immunology, Necmettin Erbakan University and University of Katip Çelebi during the Congress of PUADER (Academy of Pediatricians). The main topic was ‘Approach to Recurrent Infections in children’. This Meeting was held on October 7, 2023 and primarily focused on the diagnostic problems and decision making in the children with PID for pediatricians.

The moderators of İzmir J Project Meeting was Prof Özkan Karaman, MD and Prof Hasan Yüksel, MD. After an informative talk on the history of J Project Meetings in Turkey and in the world, Prof Ismail Reisli gave his lecture about “Approach to recurrent infections in children”. Prof Reisli also talked on the diagnostic algorithm for a child presented with recurrent infections and mentioned that the early diagnosis was very important for PID patients and that the effective therapy depends on early diagnosis of PID patients. 

There were 100 pediatricians attended this meeting. The participants discussed the importance of early diagnosis and early treatment of the patients with PID. I would like to thank all participants for their participation to this J Project Meeting, and thank to Pharmada (Dem İlaç) for their contribution to make this organization possible.
