The Kayseri J Project Meeting was organized together with the Turkish Society of Clinical Immunology and Necmettin Erbakan Universityduring The Annual Congress of Anatolian Family Physicians. The main topic was ‘Recurrent infections and Primary Immunodeficiency (PID)’.This Meeting was held on March 12, 2022 and primarily focused on the infectious complications in the patients with PID for family physicians.
The moderator of Kayseri J Project Meeting was Savaş Yılmaz, MD who is the Chief of Kırıkkale’s Society of Family Physicians. After an informative talk on the history of J Project Meetings, Prof Ismail Reisli gave his lecture about the approach to a patient with recurrent infections. He also mentioned that the effective theray depends on early diagnosis of PID patients. At the end of the session, Prof Reisli presented two patients with Adenosine Deaminase deficiency. The first patient was a severe combined immunodeficiency case, aged 3 months old and admitted with recurrent pneumonia and growth retardation. After she was treated with bone marrow transplantation, she is 13-year-old and under follow up now. The second patient has late onset ADA deficiency and treated with intravenous immunoglobulin supplementation and enzyme replacemant therapy. She had diagnosed at 20 years old and she has bronchiectasis and chronic lung disease now. Depends on these two patients with ADA deficiency, Prof Reisli talked about the early diagnosis was very important for PID patients. It was also very effective that the education on PID should be planned with the case presentations. 
There were 287 participants attended this hybrid meeting. There were 180 participants in the Congress Hall with additional 97 participants as online. The participants discussed the importance of early diagnosis and early treatment of the patients with PID and the infectious complications.
