In Türkiye, the first week of November, 2-8 November, is commemorated as Children with Leukemia Week. In the practice of public health nursing, our 4th-grade nursing students conducted leukemia awareness training and activity at Abdussamed Fazilet Kuzucu Primary School. During the training, the definition, diagnosis, symptoms, treatment methods, and prevention methods of leukemia were explained. In addition, to raise awareness of Children with Leukemia Week between 2-8 November, the primary school was equipped with an orange theme and awareness was raised.

In addition, the "Let's Paint Turkey Orange, Let Children with Leukemia Win" event was held in our faculty on November 7, 2023, in cooperation with the Department of Child Health and Diseases Nursing of the Faculty of Nursing and the Hand in Hand for the Health student community. 152 people who attended the event took photos of children with leukemia, wearing orange or using orange objects.
