Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Onuralp Özkılıç shared information about the RSF Mega-Grant Program, stating: “Established to enhance scientific competence, produce innovative solutions, and provide young researchers with international research opportunities, the RSF Mega-Grant Program is an exclusive support mechanism that promotes fundamental and applied research led by top scientists from countries engaged in scientific cooperation with Russia. In 2025, the program received a total of 230 project applications from 127 institutions across 35 regions. Following the evaluation process, only three projects were deemed worthy of support. One of these projects is the international project entitled ‘New Composite Materials for Industrial, Infrastructure and Transportation Facilities’, which I will lead academically and which will be hosted by Don State Technical University (DSTU).”

Support Is Granted Only to Projects with the Highest Scientific Merit

Providing details about the project he will lead, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Onuralp Özkılıç said: “This project, which we will carry out together with DSTU faculty member Dr. Sergey Stelmakh, aims to develop innovative engineering applications through advanced scientific research and offers a multidisciplinary cooperation platform with the participation of relevant industry stakeholders. The project will be supported with an annual budget of approximately one million US dollars for five years and can be extended for an additional three years if necessary. This support is granted by the RSF exclusively to projects of the highest scientific quality, in line with its mission to promote scientific excellence and foster international collaborations.”
