Assoc. Dr. Ruhi Can ALKIN presented the first report prepared by the Support Services and Social Policies sub-committee of which he is a member, at the National Risk Shield Model Istanbul Workshop, which was established under the Presidency and under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, after the Kahramanmaraş-centered Earthquakes that occurred on February 7, 2023. , was held at the general assembly chaired by Fatma VARANK, Deputy Minister of Urbanization and Climate Change. In the presentation, he discussed the basic points of the board meeting that analyzed the social effects created and will be caused by climate change and earthquake disaster and the psycho-social dimension of these effects. At the meeting, questions from scientists in different committees regarding the first report of the relevant subcommittee were also answered. On the occasion of the meeting, it was once again demonstrated that disasters are not only within the scope of technical sciences.
