Faculty members, residents, nurses, and staff of the Neonatal Unit at Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine celebrated World Prematurity Day at the clinic on November 17th.
"World Prematurity Day" is celebrated annually on November 17th to raise awareness and draw attention to the problems associated with prematurity, the most common cause of infant death worldwide and in our country.

An average of 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide each year. This rate is more than 1 in 10. Approximately 1 million children die each year due to complications of premature birth. Many babies who survive face lifelong disabilities, including learning disabilities, vision, and hearing problems.
