Participants:
• N. E. Ü. Faculty of Medicine General Surgery Clinic faculty members, organ donation unit healthcare personnel and nurses.
• Nephrology Department faculty members.
• Hospital employees, patients and relatives of patients.
Purpose: An awareness stand was set up to raise public awareness and provide information about the importance of organ donation in human life during Organ Donation Week (November 3-9). This event aimed to increase the public's knowledge about organ donation and to encourage more people to become donors.
Scope: The event was held on the ground floor of the new service building of Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine. General surgery clinic organ donation unit healthcare personnel, faculty members and nephrology faculty members explained organ donation processes, medical and ethical dimensions of donation to patients and relatives who visited the stand. The social benefits of organ donation and the points that individuals should pay attention to when donating were explained to the participants in detail. In addition, donation forms were distributed and information was obtained from participants who wanted to donate.
Results:
• Awareness Raising: Throughout the event, many visitors were informed about organ donation and encouraged to donate.
• Social Contribution: The stand event created a positive perception of organ donation and a step was taken to raise awareness on this issue in society.
• Participation: In addition to patients and their relatives, hospital staff and students also participated in the event and supported awareness efforts on organ donation.
