World Social Work Day has been celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of March since 1983. This special day is commemorated with various events to highlight the role of the social work profession in enhancing social welfare and to emphasize the values of social justice, human rights, and solidarity.
As part of World Social Work Day 2025, Necmettin Erbakan University, Selçuk University, and KTO Karatay University Social Work Departments, in collaboration with the Social Work Experts Association (SHUDER), organized a panel titled “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Lasting Welfare.” Held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Selçuk University, the panel discussed the importance of intergenerational relationships in social work, strengthening social solidarity, and approaches to achieving sustainable welfare.
The event, attended by academics, students, social service professionals, and civil society representatives, created a productive platform for knowledge sharing and professional interaction, once again highlighting the transformative power of social services that touches every segment of society.
