Our Vocational School of Physical Therapy students conducted a training program on “Physical Activity and Daily Living Activities” for elderly individuals living alone in the Seydişehir district. The event was organized with the aim of improving the quality of life of elderly individuals, supporting their ability to move independently, and contributing to the adoption of a more active lifestyle in their daily lives.

Under the guidance of department faculty members, the training included practical demonstrations of simple physical activities that elderly individuals can safely perform at home, balance and coordination exercises, movements to maintain muscle strength, and ergonomic behaviors in daily life. In addition, information was provided about the health risks that prolonged immobility can cause, and the positive effects of mobility on physical and mental well-being were emphasized. During the training process, students had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge by interacting one-on-one with elderly individuals, while also strengthening their sense of social responsibility. The elderly individuals who participated in the event expressed their great satisfaction with the students' interest and the attentive approach shown to them.

This meaningful work contributed to the Physiotherapy Program students gaining professional experience while also providing significant support for the spread of awareness about active and healthy aging in society.
