The second-year students of the Faculty of Science Education, under the guidance of Associate Professor Kadriye Kayacan, organized a poster exhibition titled "A Woman's Touch in Science." The exhibition was prepared to highlight the contributions and achievements of women in scientific endeavors.
During the event, the students presented the life stories, discoveries, and scientific works of women who have played significant roles in the history of science through their posters. The exhibition featured inspiring stories of many women scientists, including Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, Ada Lovelace, and others. Additionally, the students addressed issues related to gender equality in science and explored the challenges women face in pursuing scientific careers.
The exhibition took place in the faculty building and attracted a large audience, including faculty members and students from other departments. Throughout the event, the students presented their posters, shared information with participants, and delivered messages aimed at raising awareness about the increasing role of women in science.
In her opening speech, Associate Professor Kadriye Kayacan emphasized the importance of greater representation of women in the scientific community. She stated that such events could serve as an inspiration for younger generations. Kayacan highlighted that the exhibition, which resulted from the students' dedicated efforts, aimed not only to raise social awareness but also to encourage women's participation in scientific work.
At the end of the exhibition, participants were given bookmarks and small gifts featuring inspirational quotes from women scientists. The "A Woman's Touch in Science" exhibition, brought to life through the students' dedication and creative presentations, marked a significant step in drawing attention to the societal dimensions of scientific endeavors within our faculty.
