Third-year students from the Department of Recreation Management at Necmettin Erbakan University’s Faculty of Tourism took part in an enriching artistic activity under the guidance of Dr. Ayşe Zehra Sayın. Titled “Nuanced Drawing Practices in Tezhip Art,” the session allowed students to explore the detailed world of traditional Turkish illumination and engage in a creative hands-on experience. Throughout the workshop, students learned about design techniques and the structural elements of classic motifs. They worked on their own designs, improving their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. This artistic recreation activity offered more than technical skill-building—it fostered a deeper appreciation of cultural heritage and emphasized the importance of preserving traditional art forms. In addition to promoting artistic awareness, the event also highlighted the relaxing and therapeutic effects of recreational art on mental well-being. Students experienced reduced stress and increased emotional balance while engaging in the creative process. This session served as a valuable opportunity for personal development and cultural connection, supporting the broader educational goals of the department.
