"Sustainability and compote making in the kitchen" talk and jury at Konya Gastrofest

Eda Güneş, Associate Professor Dr. of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, a faculty member in our faculty, participated in the "Gastrofest" organized by the Selçuklu Municipality in September 2025, performing four roles. On the first day (September 4, 2025), she served as a jury member in a cooking competition featuring housewives showcasing their local products. On the fourth day (September 7, 2025), she took the stage with a speech titled "Sustainability and Compote Making in the Kitchen." These events emphasized the importance of the kitchen and sowed seeds for the future by promoting recycling and raising public awareness, ensuring the survival of our ancient traditions. Composting and waste recycling were discussed, as well as the use of local seeds, enriching the soil, and providing information on how to prevent waste and recycle.
