Organized by Kilis 7 Aralik University Middle East Studies Center (KODAM), the event was attended by Necmettin Erbakan University Social and Human Sciences Faculty Sociology Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. The e-conference titled "The Role of Borders in Perception of Migrants" was held with Ferhat Tekin as a speaker. The conference focused on how and in what ways the nation-state border understanding affects social perceptions and attitudes towards immigrants in the target country, and how it shapes the mentality of the national community. The border is a functional ideological device in defining national identity, “us” and “other”, “friend” and “enemy”, and accordingly, the border is not only for the nation-state, but also for the community it has built, it provides difference, belonging, order. and trust, and it was stated that it offers a perspective against foreigners and immigrants. In this sense, it was emphasized that while the territorial border is physically fixed in one place, the idea of the territorial border manifests itself almost everywhere in the national space or, in a more sociopolitical expression, the homeland. After question-answer and negotiations, the e-conference ended.
