Organized by Kilis 7 Aralik University Middle East Studies Center (KODAM), the event was attended by Necmettin Erbakan University Social and Human Sciences Faculty Sociology Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. The e-conference titled "The Role of Borders in Perception of Migrants" was held with Ferhat Tekin as a speaker. The conference focused on how and in what ways the nation-state border understanding affects social perceptions and attitudes towards immigrants in the target country, and how it shapes the mentality of the national community. The border is a functional ideological device in defining national identity, “us” and “other”, “friend” and “enemy”, and accordingly, the border is not only for the nation-state, but also for the community it has built, it provides difference, belonging, order. and trust, and it was stated that it offers a perspective against foreigners and immigrants. In this sense, it was emphasized that while the territorial border is physically fixed in one place, the idea of ​​the territorial border manifests itself almost everywhere in the national space or, in a more sociopolitical expression, the homeland.
