Within the scope of the 'Healthy and Quality Old Age' project carried out by our university with the support of the Turkish National Agency, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism of our University, Prof. Dr. A nature walk was held with the participation of Fatma Arslan, our Secretary General Ecevit Öksüz and the citizens involved in the project.   With the project carried out by the Healthy Living and Exercise Application and Research Center of our University, we aim to help individuals feel healthy and dynamic in the long term by improving their physical functions, to gain economic profit by reducing the pressure on the health sector, and to positively change the perception of 'uselessness' that comes with old age. It is aimed to provide emotional and psychological relief to elderly individuals.   Speaking at the event, the coordinator of the project, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism of our University, Prof. Dr. Fatma Arslan stated that they started the project to enable the elderly to continue their lives in a healthy and quality way and said, “We have achieved very important results in our program and we are striving for the better. One of the issues we attach most importance to is correcting any poor posture, strengthening the muscles for a proper posture, and thus minimizing body pain and staying energetic. We are happy that the individuals involved in our project live a healthier life. "Hopefully, they will be in a better place when the project is completed," he said.   Our Rector Prof. started his speech by thanking the project team. Dr. Cem Zorlu said that the project, which covers a certain group, should be spread throughout Konya and said, “Aging is a destiny. However, in this destiny, if a person can spare time for himself, sports and exercise, he can maintain his physical quality of life until his last breath, as if he were 25-30 years old. We also saw how good our citizens who took part in the project were, even though the program was not yet completed. "I think they will be able to run long distances when the project is completed," he said.   Citizens who took part in the study also stated that they were happy that such a study was carried out for them, and that thanks to the program, they got rid of their pain and lived a healthier life and felt better.   Project coaching by Prof. Dr. Fatma Arslan and project coordinator Res. The ESC30 SOL project team, led by Hasan Suat Aksu, includes graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Recreation Management and a faculty member from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
