Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Aydın from our faculty's Civil Engineering Department, a TÜBA regular member and the coordinator of the TÜBA-Environment, Biodiversity, and Climate Change Working Group, participated in the "Workshop on Earthquake, Urban Transformation, and Sustainability" hosted by Kocaeli Health and Technology University, aimed at restructuring cities in earthquake-prone areas safely, livably, and sustainably. The program began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Aydın, discussing topics such as the reality of earthquakes, urban transformation and its social impacts, sustainability and applications, along with the legal framework, financing models, and incentives related to urban transformation. The meeting also focused on green building design and energy efficiency, waste management, recycling, and environmentally friendly practices.
