A Turkish Art Music Concert was held by Konya Music Association in Sultan Veled Hall of Mevlana Cultural Center on 10.06.2024 at 20:30, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atakan Tekinalp, a faculty member of NEU Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Hematology Department, as the choir conductor. The concert consisted of 2 parts. In the first part, the choir performed a fasıl in the Hicâz makam, and in the second part, solo and solo works were presented. The concert, which appealed to a wide audience and was highly appreciated, lasted approximately two hours. NEU Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Şükrü Nail Güner attended the concert as a listener and presented the plaque prepared by the Board of Directors of the association for the 40th anniversary of the association to the choir conductor Assoc. Dr. Atakan Tekinalp.
Konya Music Association, whose mission is to keep Classical Turkish Music alive and to pass it on to younger generations, to provide Turkish Music theory education and to organize artistic activities, was founded in 1984 and since then it has conveyed its work to the audience with regular concerts and has gained an important place in the cultural and artistic life of Konya. The association, whose expenses are covered by the members' dues, includes people of all ages and professions, and the artistic activities of the association are carried out according to the principle of volunteerism.
