Understanding and Treating Psychological Trauma

In our faculty, Department of Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Dr. Lecturer Member Nesibe GÜNAY MOLU and Res. See. The conference, moderated by Fatma YENER ÖZCAN, was held on November 4, 2022. Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Department of Psychology, Department of Applied Psychology faculty member and director of the Psychological Support Center Dr. Lecturer Member Şeyda ERUYAR participated as a speaker. 266 people attended the event held at Asım Duman Conference Hall. At the conference, the importance of understanding and treating psychological trauma was mentioned in order to protect mental health and strengthen psychological resilience and well-being. Information was also given at the conference about the application process to the Psychological Support Center within our university. Psychological trauma is a scourge of the weak. At the time of trauma, the victim is rendered helpless by an overwhelming force. When the force is that of nature, we speak of disaster. When the force is that of another person, we speak of brutality.
