Students from the Department of Recreation Management, Faculty of Tourism at Necmettin Erbakan University, volunteered in the social responsibility project “Stronger Together: A Woman’s Touch for Gaza”, which aimed to support those in need in Gaza while promoting women’s empowerment and volunteerism among youth. The event featured handmade crafts, homemade food, jewelry, and gift items prepared by women and presented at a charity fair. All proceeds were donated to aid organizations providing assistance to people in Gaza, turning collective effort into meaningful humanitarian support. Throughout the event, students took active roles in setting up the stand, promoting the products, managing sales, and engaging with visitors, contributing significantly to the organization’s success. By participating voluntarily, they developed a deeper sense of empathy, solidarity, and civic responsibility. The experience also helped them understand that volunteerism is not only about giving but also about connecting, understanding, and sharing human values. The project demonstrated how youth engagement can create hope and positive change through compassion and cooperation. At the close of the event, organizers expressed heartfelt appreciation to all contributors, highlighting that the funds raised would bring both material and emotional support to Gaza. The Recreation Management students exemplified how empathy-driven actions can build bridges of humanity, reflecting Necmettin Erbakan University’s commitment to education that serves both people and society.
