This seminar aims to raise the awareness of nursing students and health professionals by addressing the effects of water pollution on public health, its causes and prevention strategies. Access to clean water is vital for preventing infectious diseases, maintaining hygiene conditions and improving overall health. However, factors such as industrial wastes, agricultural chemicals, plastic pollution and inadequate waste management threaten water resources. Within the scope of the seminar, the causes of water pollution, its negative impacts on human health (water-borne diseases, toxic substance accumulation, antibiotic resistance), sustainable water management and access to clean water policies were discussed. In addition, individual and social responsibilities in combating water pollution in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Health and Quality of Life, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 14: Life in Water) were discussed.
