As Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, we placed giant cigarette butt models around the faculty on May 31, World No Tobacco Day, and drew attention to the damage caused by cigarette butts thrown on the ground indiscriminately, as well as the harm of cigarettes and other tobacco products to human health. Cigarette butts are made from a non-biodegradable plastic called cellulose acetate. In addition, throwing butts containing nicotine, heavy metals and other chemicals on the ground threatens the ecosystem by mixing with soil and water. With the giant butt project, we emphasized the serious negative effects of cigarettes on human health and their wastes on the environment.
