Young Communicators Received Ecology Literacy and Climate Journalism Training

One and a Half Degrees, ecology literacy and climate journalism training for young communicators, was held at Konya Science Center under the supervision of the Social Innovation Agency, in cooperation with the Radio and Television Supreme Council, our University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University Faculty of Communication. Climate Journalists Are Growing in Konya  More than 300 applications were made from 28 different cities to the 'One and a Half Degree: Ecological Literacy and Climate Journalism Training' program. 24 young communicators selected from the applications received training on the basic concepts and processes of climate journalism in the field of science communication. In the program, workshops were held in various areas such as podcasting, climate-related content development and infographic creation.   “We Can Tolerate One and a Half Degrees at Most”   Our Vice Rector Prof. talked about the importance of 'One and a Half Degrees' for the world. Dr. Zekeriya Mızırak said, “With the One and a Half Degree program, young communicators received training on conveying social problems accurately with innovative communication methods. Our world can tolerate one and a half degrees. "I would like to thank all stakeholders and participants for this effective program hosted by the science center," he said.   Selçuk University Faculty of Communication Dean Enderhan Koç said, “Literacy education is provided in almost every field in our country. These trainings are very important for us, but it is much more valuable if they are in a multidisciplinary format like in One and a Half Degrees. "I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to such a program for young reporters in our country, where the agenda changes very rapidly." "As RTÜK, we strive to be involved in important projects"  Noting that family education is vital for social life, Deputy Chairman of the Radio and Television Supreme Council Dr. İbrahim Uslu said, "We know that basic issues such as environment and violence start with family education, not only in Turkey but all over the world. At this point, I would like to thank all the stakeholders who came together to offer such an effective and qualified education to young people. In addition, this program will be the subject of other events." "I am proud to announce. Our innovative projects for our young communicators will continue," he said.   In order to make the program an environmentally friendly event, 24 saplings were planted for the participants who came to Konya from different provinces of our country within the scope of the program. Certificates were presented to the participants at the closing program of the event.
