On 20.12.2024, “Zero Waste and Waste Management” Training was carried out with our 2nd-grade students under the supervision of Dr. Lecturer Aliye ÇAYIR to the students of Mehmet Beğen Secondary School affiliated to Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education Meram District. In the training, topics such as what is zero waste? what is waste management? how are wastes recycled, and the studies carried out for waste management in our city were discussed, and a video was shown on the subject. Our students demonstrated the sustainability of zero waste individually by making examples such as flower pots and trash cans from recyclable materials and sharing them with the students. In addition, in order to support zero waste, cloth bags were given to our students as a gift in order to reduce the consumption of disposable bags that cannot be recycled with the support of Konya Metropolitan Municipality. During the training process, our nursing students experienced training to develop their roles as educators by using educational methods such as question-answer, demonstration, and demonstration. In addition, efforts were made to help secondary school students become informed about zero waste and waste management and take action through training.
